COMENIUS UNIVERSITY STILL PRODUCES MOST OF EXCELLENT SCIENCE IN SLOVAKIA
CU continues to produce the highest-quality scientific output among all higher education institutions in Slovakia. This follows from data published by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, which recently distributed funding to universities based on excellent scientific output for the second time.
COMENIUS UNIVERSITY WILL CONTINUE TO HONOUR 17 NOVEMBER AS A HOLIDAY
The academic community perceives 17 November as an extraordinary day. The Rector of Comenius University Bratislava (CU) therefore announced that a symbolic rector's day off would be declared on this day, despite the planned cancellation of the day of rest.
COMENIUS UNIVERSITY BRATISLAVA REMAINS AMONG THE TOP 3.5% OF UNIVERSITIES WORLDWIDE
According to the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), Comenius University Bratislava has placed 739th, reaffirming its position among the top 3.5% of universities in the world. CU is also the highest-ranked university in Slovakia.
The first novel written in Slovak has now been translated into English
The book René mládenca príhody a skúsenosti (René, or: A Young Man’s Adventures and Experiences) by Jozef Ignác Bajza is considered to be the first novel written in the Slovak language. An English translation by David Short has now been published, edited by Dobrota Pucherová from the Institute of World Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Erika Brtáňová from the Faculty of Education of CU.
Exhibition of Italian Football at CU’s Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Brings Iconic Trophies
Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Comenius University Bratislava has opened a unique exhibition entitled Sfumature di azzurro – Shades of Azure. It features original trophies and rare artefacts of Italian football, evoking not only legendary moments but above all the values represented by this sport.
